NBS Guage Cluster in OBS truck??

This may sound dumb but will a NBS guage cluster plug into an older truck and function properly? I'm not worried about mounting and fitting just whether or not this cluster/DIC work. Any thoughts?

More specifically an ~08 cluster in a 04

Hell, if you already have one in your possession just try it. I'm kinda curious as well.

I never got into this because my pessimistic side is leaning toward it's not possible. My roommate has an 08 so if he's ever feeling helpful I'll look at the connections and compare. Also, next time I'll ask my local Duramax guru at the stealership what his thoughts are...

i would be absolutely amazed if it works, i will be somewhat surprised if it doesent destroy the NBS cluster, theres a possibility that plugging it in will damage several computers in the truck. i would say dont do it. NBS are all data bus driven systems. the older trucks have much less data on the can bus.

also i want to saythe NBS cluster is a 2 plug connection, vs the 1 plug for the OBS.
