Installing fog lights

I want to install some after market fog lights. My truck never had fog lights. If there were never lights installed in it would there be any of the wiring/ relays that I need already in the truck or will I need to buy everything and install it myself. I would like to hook it up to function just like it would come from the factory using the factory button and all.
Thanks for any help.

My truck didnt have fog lights either. I bought a factory fog light kit off ebay that came with all the factory wiring/relays and the factory switch. Of course the gm fog lights also. Very easy plus clean install. My opinion of course, but spend the few bucks and do them right.

This is the same kit I ordered:

I am not planning on using the GM lights. I am planning on building a bumper and would like to install fog lights with it. I would like to make the wiring look as stock as possible though and would also like to use the factory switch to turn them on. After doing some more reading it sounds like some trucks have the wiring for the lights and some do not. I guess I will have to go poke around under the truck. Does anybody know of a easy place to look to determine if I have the wiring/relays already?

You can still install the GM fogs if you build a bumper. I have a bumper replacement and my factory fogs fit in it just fine. It would look much cleaner IMO instead of some cheap ass round fog lights from O'Reilly's like some people do when they build bumpers. My .02

Go into your relay center and pop the cover off. The undo the top of the relay center where the relays are and remove it. Then you will be able to see under the panel if the truck has the wiring for the or not.

Bringing back an old one. Looking at getting factory fogs for mine and curious where the factorys plug into up front so I could look and see if mine has a plug to use. Pics would be awesome if anyone has time.

Some trucks are prewired and some aren't. Mine wasn't wired so I had to buy the switch, harness and fogs... it was $158 for a dealer on eBay. I'll see if I can find the link when I get on a computer
