Guage lights?

Im wondering what you guys are doing for lighting the guages. Ive got the autometers and Im wondering what wire you would tap into so that they dim with the dash lights on my 2002 and how would you tap into it?

I can tell you that using the dimmer is not good idea.Causes the voltage to drop=not good. Can't you wire it to the batt/or hot side of ignition so that key is turned, hot, then use whatever dimmer came with your gauges, that's the easiest way/I'd do mine like that....

But wouldnt the light always be on that way? I think ive seen some do it but im not sure of the wire to use. Would this really cause the voltage to drop that much? Anyone ever had problems with it? I could just wire to a key on source but it would be cool to do it this way

Yeah i found that one i think. Its diesel manor i believe that shows installation pics but its for a 2006 lbz i think and mine is 2002. I wouldnt have a problem figuring it out myself but i dont have a voltmeter to test the wires. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it
