Power at the trailer plug

I've tried for a long time to get power to the trailer plug for my interior trailer lights with no luck. I've hooked up the lug under the hood fuse block that said trailer power and still nothing. Any help would be great. Thanks Brig

Have you checked all the fuses?Look in the underhood fuse box. There is some tape over all the fuses that supply trailer power.[next to driver side fender]

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but, when you hooked up the wire to the lug on the distribution panel, did you install the fuse?

Mine has one lug on the left, (actually the front) which is the power to the brake controller, and one on the right, (actually the back) that runs the +12VDC to the trailer plug.

Another thing to check is the actual wiring to the plug. There have been a number of posts that contain the correct wiring for both end of the plug (truck and trailer).

Hope this helps.

There is a wire on the side of the box with a tag that reads aftermarket 12 volt trailer feed. I had to uncoil and connect to the post at the front of the box. That wire is now hot at the box but nothing at the camper connection or at the plug itself. I cant imagine that wire having another fuse on it somewhere under the truck.

I had to add a 40a fuse in my fuse block under the hood before I got power to my trailer.
IIRC it was under a piece of tape also. There was just a blank place holder in its hole.

Iput the fuse in and have had power to the wire that says trailer feed.At the bundle of wire for a camper insert, there is no power to the red/ black wire nor is there power at the 7 way plug. I guess I'll start tracing the wire and find some.thing

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I was checking my wiring the other day and mine doesn't seem to be working either... I have hooked the wire to the stud and the stud has power (fuse is in and not blown) and still have yet to get power to the 12V pin on the bumper connector
