Thanks for all the replies guys. I have sort of ignored this thread, but I used the Crutchfield site and found exactly what I was looking for (I think). A bit spendy, but I'll get to keep my factory radio and be able to play, control and charge my ipod thru it, so it will be worth it to me!!!!

heres what you have to do. go to Crutchfield: LCD TV, Car Stereo, Home Theater, Speakers, Plasma TV and look for the gm to ipod interface. it hooks up to your factory radio, you can control the ipod through the radio or vice versa and the sound is crystal clear! sounds just like a new cd as far as sound quality. also charges the ipod. if you want some pics i can try and post em up for you

i have a preferial ipod adapter I could part with.... it integrates right into your factory deck...
^^^^^ I have the peripheral.. it is by far the best option to retain manual and radio control over your iPod. Dont think about buying anything but peripheral!!!
I just went to the Crutchfield website and all of the equipment said it was "not compatible" with my radio.
Do any of you know what would be compatible for the peripheral? I am going to call them to find out, because I have been using the cassette method and it keeps giving me the "CLEAN" indication and spits out the cassette.
I would much rather have the peripheral and not use the cassette for this.

That is the unit that I installed. Works great (so far) and the sound is very good (compared to the old FM modualtor)
