booked in for an Autostart

I am booked in to get an Autostart remote starter installed. It will start my truck every hr or so on really cold nites or days and let it run till it warms up. There is a glowplug delay built in. Is this a quality starter. They had Compustart there also but he seemed to thing the Autostart was a better unit. Any opinions?

Rick

i have autostart on my truck. had it put on last winter and it works great! lots of options on it including a setting where it will start once an hour or once every two hours whatever you want. the glow plug delay allows it to warm properly before trying to start. haven't had anyproblems with it. it even ties in to kick on my heated seats!! you should like the autostart!

You dont need to start it every hour. I have one on my truck and it has a timer to start every 3 hours and run for 20 mins. This works great. I set it up that way when i would go snowmobiling. The coldest it was out when i did this was -35F. Every hour is overkill.

If you get a auto start make sure you get a name brand shop to put it in. Even best buy or a company who will honor a warranty.

We do everything in our shop but we wont install those. Some of the systems are junk and can cause problems down the road. If you do have problems a you want the company to help you out.

got the AUTOSTART installed on friday and so far it has worked flawlessly. I started it this morning and it was well warmed up when I left. Nice clean professional install.
