Bose sound PROB.

I have the factory bose sys., when i have a cd in or running off of the tape deck my stereo sounds like a scratched cd when the volume is of a medium level, and it gets worse as the volume gets louder. when the raidio is on it works fine at any volume " no skipping cd noise" . I naturally thought it was an issue with the cd plr. but like i said it does the same thing with a tape. Please Help

See what some of these other guys have to say but i am going to say its your Bose Amp going out, usually when that happens its a crackling, screaching, or popping sound

well it was an idea... it could be the processor in it, I would say start looking for a new one, or a aftermarket with a wiring harness and bypass to work with the bose system, if you buy a new bose cd player you will probably have to get it programmed at the dealer to your vin they all have to be coded and i hear it aint cheap

FWIW, if it is the headunit and you want to stick to the stock style, just go on ebay and buy one. It doesnt have to say it is bose. All the headunits are the same for your year. So, you will probably get one a little cheaper that way. As far as the dealer programming it, they will probably charge you for one hour labor. Too bad i wasnt in alaska now...I have a cd/tape deck for your truck that i would be willing to sell pretty cheap. Its just gathering dust.

You can probably pick up a 6 disc changer pretty decently priced though if you dont need the tape deck.
