Turbo Timers

Just wondering if anyone is using one, Are they worth the money and has anyone had any problems associated with them? Saw one brand with remote start incorporated into unit.

I'm using a turbo timer and I love it. Letting your truck cool down, esp. on long rides...is good for it, and all you have to do is hit two buttons at the same time, pull out your key, lock your doors, and not worry about a thing. My remote start / turbo timer was the best investment I made for my truck. Esp. on those cold winter days when your truck needs to warm up for like 10 minutes.

True! On my 08 I use the remote start that way. Just turn off pull the keys out and restart with remote and it will run for 10min then automatically shut off. Also great for those cold day warm up's.

Very cool for them to include that on the new ones.

Question

Lookin only for a turbo timer as I'm already satisfied with power for now..I'm a pretty good mech,I do all my own,how do ya install,is it easy,am looking because i prob travel around 500 miles a week, sometimes towing heavy equip, and doin lots of idling to cool turbo,I usually run it about 5 mins, but it is a beeyatch to have to always walk back, especially on the job site to shut it down if I am gonna stop driving a while, but normally if i an not gonna be longer than 30 mins I let it idle,if I had a dollar for every time I was asked''ya know ya left it running'' I could prob buy a timer..

I bought a remote start for diesels that had a turbo timer built in and here its cold enough to want the longer warm up times so i bought 1 with a 45 min warm up time and 2 min cool down.
mine is compustar and it is great. I have 2, 1 is 5 years old and 1 is 3 but never had a problem with either.

Just checked out the compustar, it seems pretty complicated at first glance i'll have to do some more reading and let it sink in. Also looking at the "BD" and the "Diesel turbo lifesaver", But the built in remote start would be a nice feature.
