If you read that Ebay link, it says the radio MUST have a CAT button or Navigation system in order for it to work. So def. check on that if you buy this product.

i was told if you have the XM you can unplugg the XM and play the IPod thru that but i haven't actualy tried it yet so take it for what it's worth..guy at circuit city told me that.

I'm not sure what kind of plug in the XM uses, but as long as its not hard wired into the radio then there's a definate chance that it could work. I'm sure it would take some kind of miracle adapter, but if it's possible then I'm sure someone has already made one and is selling it.
I would look into that for your first option. Then probably the aftermarket stereo with steering wheel button adapter thingamajigger.
Way I look at it is...that adapter is 150.00 plus shipping etc.... plus you have to install it yourself or pay for someone to install it. If that's the case, about $180.00 is cheapest and 250-280.00 would be most expensive, IF you go with the adapter. If you go buy a better stereo with controls, 200-250.00.....and your sound quality will be MUCH better with aftermarket stereo. Remember this is My Opinion.... And another thing, my wife just had the same issue as you, she wanted an adapter and I told her to get a stereo....she finally got the stereo and apologized to me because she now LOVES the way her system sounds...and she only paid 99.00 for her stereo.

DRGNRACIN72, Go to Crutchfield.com Type in your vehicles info and they have either option A:aux jack adapter that comes with a harness that connects right to your factory radio for about $65.00, or Option B: A $250.00 adapter that plugs in to your factory radio and lets you dock your Ipod wherever you route the cable in your truck and you can control your Ipod from your Factory radio while it is charging. Go to Crutchfield and type in your year, make, and model and go to the audio section and click on Ipod Integration and you will see the options available for your truck.
this is from awhile ago, but i appreciate all of the advice. ive hit up crutchfield and have several different options to choose from so now i just need to make up my mind and do something about it!!! thanx
If you don't have an AUX port on your stock stereo...which I'm almost positive you don't...you have to buy an aftermarket stereo or go FM. If you buy an aftermarket stereo you can buy an adapter for $100.00 that will still let you use your steering wheel controls. I know it's pricey, but you can get an aftermarket stereo with AUX port for like $99.00. So going aftermarket with Stereo and thumb control adapter might cost $250.00 tops...and that's really not that bad....and if you use a place like Circuit City...you can get free install.
These can be had for around 80.00 now so if it's the sound quality you want go with thw aftermarket head unit with adapter.

If you have the DVD system you can run the ipod into the aux audio/video input. It will pipe in the music from there. I don't like the wire hanging down from the DVD player, but it works just peachy.
yeah i think im going to go with an in dash gps/screen, and keep my xm and cd player and get the aux input for the ipod. rediculous its gonna cost a lot of money to do it right and get what i want lol.
