This seems to be a popular debate topic. IMO I don’t think its fair for a dealership not to cover some things under warrenty when a truck has been modified. For instance your buddy with a stock truck loses an injector and the dealer covers it under warrenty. Then you lose an injector on your truck while running a tuner and they refuse to cover it under warrenty just because you had a tuner on your truck. If they have the same problems with stock trucks they should cover it. Now on the other hand if your running a tuner and you burn up your turbo from egts to high or something like that I don’t think its fair to GM to try to make them pay for your mistakes. I guess what I’m trying to say if gm knows they have problems with parts going bad in stock trucks they should cover the same parts in modified ones as well. Just my opinion.

I agree with you. That is the way the law reads but just like what i am going through, you have to fight them on it. They know they have an injector problem and that it has been the culprit in most of their engine failures.
The law states that even if you did have a power-adder, the manufacture has to be able to prove beyond all reasonable doubts that the aftermarket part in question caused the failure.
The problem is now that there are so many altered trucks out there, the dealers have put on alert to look for things to cover themselves. The factory is looking very closley at R.O's before they step up to remiburse the dealers for warranty work now and the dealership doesn't want to get stuck with the bill. The dealer is only going to go out so far on a limb for you. Like i said in a previous post, now any engine failures on GM Duramax are now handled by the manufacture. The dealership doesn't have the authorization to make the decision anymore.

Would this be able to tell if an Edge Juice was installed?
I am not sure on that one. I will have to ask and get back to you.

IIRC all they can do is read any trouble codes you may have.
