can u still chip a dmax

if i get a 2009 duramax can i still chip it so i dont loose my warranty because i know the fords have something built into the computer that can tell if you have had a chip or not thanks

You will void your warranty! It will show in your computer.

I was talking to the dealer as I have an 08 LMM and asked this question, as they sell Superchips at the dealership. He stated that they only have to check the computer if there is something severely wrong and they suspect a tune may have created the prob.. However he did say most GUYS tune their trucks and remove the tune before they get service. He said that is what I should do, if I were to buy the tune. That being said others on here have tunes and remove them with no issues from the dealers. But it will be in the cpu of the truck I doubt the dealer would find it if they have no reason to look.

Don't let the dealer bull$hit you! You need your warranty when you have a problem. When sometiing happens, it's too late! Superchips does give you a two year warranty on your engine with their programmer. The dealers do check, and if you have one and run into a problem, bend over!

that is what i was thinking when i read that they are just trying to make u buy the truck and then make money when the engine or tranny goes on the bitch

Not positive, but call Banks...they have a piggyback system that doesn't mess with the computer....they won't even correct the speedo...you have to use the PDA for everything. So personally, I don't see how a dealership could tell. Because a box under the hood basically takes the comp. info, and re-configs it and sends it out...

Banks is no different! Don't let them give you B.S.! Using a PDA is no different than using a handheld programmer.
