Knowing about the heavy fines getting rid of the DPF plus voiding the warranty, one would be a little nervice about driving the vehicle. One of my friends just did the DPF on his ford and the smoke it emits I think is a dead give away the truck has been altered. Question, can law enforcement fine or turn you in for epa violations?
[quote=Pick;118095]Guys,
I just joined the forum, all of you have good lookin trucks. I need to get some pics of my truck soon. Quick question? Do any of you have any good suggestions to gain gas mileage? I have a 2007 LMM K2500 Crew Cab LTZ w/ all the bells and whistles. No mods yet, but looking into it to get better gas mileage. I understand the power will come, but my main concern is gas mileage, any suggestions? I was considering the Banks Big Hoss Bundle, but the engineering department couldn't guarantee more than 2 additional mpg.
Thanks, Pick[/QUOTE
In LLY form the Banks System doesn't give any improvement on gas mileage, no matter what they say. Also the Speedo Calibration is only compensated on the PDA and not the console speedo which isn't in any of their documentation that I've been able to find.

In California, it turns out, yes they can. Here's some of the CA vehicle code, though, which surprised me somewhat because the fines aren't that steep. There may be other penalties they can whack us with - based on my experience with the legal system there's more to the story ...

Disconnecting, Modifying, or Altering a Pollution Control Device
42001.14. (a) Every person convicted of an infraction for the offense of disconnecting, modifying, or altering a required pollution control device in violation of Section 27156 shall be punished as follows:
(1) For a first conviction, by a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50), nor more than one hundred dollars ($100).
(2) For a second or subsequent conviction, by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100), nor more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250).

So first of all, it is an infraction (which isn't a crime, per se, but more like a slap on the wrist) and secondly the fine isn't that big.
This does not address any potential Federal issues, which can be a whole other story...
