New or Remanufactured Injectors?

Hey all,

I was wondering what people think about putting remanufactured injectors into the LB7? I think I've got one going & I am trying to figure out if it's worth buying new Bosch injectors for a an 8 year old truck with 140k miles or save about 1/2 that by going with reman'd injectors. This is truck is basically work & pulling camper, no real mods or high performance needs.

Any experience or opions appreciated. Thanks.

140000 is not anything for these trucks, I have 179000 on my 03 and it runs great. If you type in LB7 injector on Ebay they sell remanufactured ones for $140 each with free shipping. Just a thought. I have not been able to find new ones myself, if you found new ones could you let me know where you found them?

On top of that, if someone is selling re manufactured injectors, I"m sure they have to have some kind of warranty on them....so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thumbs down Apparently Reman'd was NOT the way to go...

Well, I went ahead and had four remanufactured injectors put in (all the drivers side while that valve cover is off). Bought them from Pensacola Diesel for $140 ea. Picked the truck up & it was smoking at idle, dealer said it was unburned fuel that would clear up. On the way home it did not clear up & was knocking distinctly like bad injector.

Called dealer next morning, dropped it back off for diagnosis. They said the knocking was normal diesel noise, I say if you think it's normal you need to stick to gas motors, insisted on more than road test. They finally checked return rates & two of the newly purchased injectors are apparently bad.

So, called Pensacola Diesel, asked why 1/2 the injectors they sent are bad. They said you should never replace injectors except at 8 at a time, their stuff is tested, blah, blah, blah... They are sending two more, but now I'm stuck for the labor & probably would have been better off with the dealers $325 injectors.

This sucks! We'll see how the next round goes.
