Hey guys i got a prob with my ac/heater when running the ac it will blow cold for a while the all of a sudden stop and blow very hot, also when running the heat it never really gets cold and will never blow on high hot or cold. What's the deal?
The stepper motor, which controls the position of the dampers (flaps), is probably gone out. Also the resistor that controls the fan speed is most likely the problem with not running on high.
@boltonn, I have read your post about your situation with your 2004 truck. How are things going with that? Were you able to find the part that you are looking for? Did you visit the Gm Parts Direct site? You could also contact your local General Motors dealership's part department. If you were to purchase a genuine GM part there should be a parts warranty with that part.
I have found the resistor, but I'm not really sure what I'm looking for when it comes to the flaps I did look at the GM parts direct site but as I said I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I haven't called as it's not really cold in Bama yet. So it's not a need right now lol. Thanks
