Anyone ever blown a headgasket? 03 GMC smoking coolant

Just had a 03 GMC Duramax come into the shop, was running fine then started smoking - stinks like antifreeze & you can see the bubbles come into the coolant res. Had someone tell me it could be injector seals? Just never heard of a headgasket on a Dmax.

Truck only has 90k miles, called in the VIN & it was covered. Brought it to a GMC dealer - they called me the next day & said they would not warranty it because it had a pyro at one time (pass manifold had a blocked tap).

any info would be great.

with all the mods you have - do you have a pyro in the manifold? Or did they just warranty it anyway?

I figured that would be a warranty cake walk & anydealer would love the job. lazy bastards!

The service guy was just being a dick I think - who wouldn't want a motor job on GM's dime? Service guy even told me how slow they were. Friggin idiot, I have it at another dealer right now - they were pumped to have a big job come in under warranty.

Yeah, the dealer mine is at is pretty slow right now. I would say that is why they didn't fuss too much. They new if i was paying for it that it would go to a different shop.

That would be your injectors. Take it to the dealer ASAP. there is a extended warranty for 7 years 200000 miles on the LB7 injectors for that very reason.
