So with the downfall of our economy, GM has decided to indefinitely postpone the new 4.5L Duramax. I think this is a terrible move. I know a lot of people would love a small block D-max in a 1/2 ton application. To me, it would be the perfect truck, especially for a daily driver. So to start with, please post a response to this thread, and let's start gathering names, or anything to send to GM in support of the new LMK. We need your help guys...
PS If we can keep this bumped, or sticky, it would be great.
not worth trying to gather names...gm doesnt care about our forums...
That’s the spirit haha! B...U...M...P!

So that's it, there's nothing we can do to show our support? I worried it might be futile, but I'd really hate for it to get lost so easily. I don't understand when they've already come so far... They've already built prototypes, and now they've got to change the factory back to producing 5 cyl gas engines. I don't understand, when their full size pickups sell way better than those compact pieces of trash...
As much as I would like to see it happen, they are hurting right now. And with that said, If they do go for it, they will water it down and throw out some overpriced, junk that is built cheap...
I think GM needs to focus on where they are making money, and build quality, priced right automobiles and hit it hard and put the "coolness" projects on the back burner until they can get caught back up.
Okay, if we're talking about cutting costs and efficiently managing one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world (in the middle of a global economic recession), do I dare bring up the Corvette ZR-1? They (GM) even admitted they launched production of the ZR-1 as an experiment, trying to go head-to-head with the European luxury-rods. Has anyone looked around lately and thought, "Boy, it sure would be a great day to drop over $100,000 on a top-end sportscar?" I'm in no way bashing on the ZR-1, honestly it has me drooling... But if you want to compare what's more likely to make money, as well as what's more likely to cost money... I think there's hardly an argument. GM: Make me a 1/2 ton diesel!!!
