I am new to the diesel motors and not as knowlagable as everyone in this place. I am going to buy a programing chip and need to know how to tell if my truck is an LLY or a LBZ. Ive looked at every sticker on the truck, the manual, and everywhere I could think to look. Where can I find this out. I have an 06.
And also was looking into the Banks Six gun. Any info on this device. Im just looking for better gas milage and towing power. I liked it because of the interaction with the palm pilot which i already have.
Thanks and im sorry for the stupid question. I guess I got to start somewhere.
if it is an LLY the 8th digit in the vin will be a 2
as for LBZ i dont know what the number is but if its a 2 its an LLY ne other number sure its an lbz

It was a D. Thank You!
Do you preffer the LBZ over the LLY?
Will a tuner create any problems down the road for me? im just gonna be wanting better gas mileage and towing power. I do love to gun it of and on, but mainly for the mileage.
