speedo prob.

My speedometer is not accurate and its jumpy.. not smooth... example: i could be doing 45 mph and it shows 25. and somethime it dosent work at all... could it be the speed sesor?

also it never goes to 120 and stays there... saw that on other threads!

Sounds like the stepper motor. How many miles do you have on the truck? If less than 70K take it to the dealer and have them install a new cluster. If over 70K get a new cluster from us spedo.

It does not qualify for the new cluster, but I have heard of people fixing the current cluster with rebuilding it with new parts. I have not done it but may be an idea to save a few bucks.

When mine went bad I just bought one from a salvage yard that had a wrecked LB7. Fixed the problem but if I remember right I think it was a costly $125. Also your mileage will not read what is on your truck it will read what was on the donor truck for some reason.

I got 5 new stepper motors from a guy on ebay for like $10 ea and only put two in to fix mine. If you want, Ill look for the rest when i get home on fri. If not, I think his ebay name was DigitalGuy_01 or something very close to that. The replacement took 30min and a soldering iron. Very easy. OR you could send it up to me and ill replace it.
