What kind of average engine and trans temp should one get while pulling. I pulled a camper this weekend (10000-12000#) and while pulling a fairly steep grade the trans and engine temps both shot up to right around 240 degrees. Grade was probably about mile and a half long.

You have the mouthpiece mod done? MY OPINION is that it's not really out of line bad, but could be better. What were the outside temps? What gear were you pulling in?

did they stay there or cool back down? On a steep grade pulling similar weight, I'll see my engine go up to about 230-240 but starts cooling back down quickly once the power sucking fan kicks on.

Its an 06' LLY (same as an LBZ) didn't think I needed to mod the mouthpiece?
The engine temps did return to normal fairly quickly after I leveled out of the pull. Outside temp was probably around 85 or so.
I am not sure what you mean by IAT.
