Buying a Duramax

Can anyone tell me what the better motor would be to get the LB7 or LLY I hear alot of good stuff about both so Im not sure what I should get. Can anyone tell me what I might want to stay away from or what to look out for when shopping for my Duramax? I drive a powerstroke now but I used my boss's LLY over a weekend a while back and now I have to have one, there is just no comparison between the trucks. As soon as my truck sells I will be getting a Duramax, so any iformation would help out,

the lb7 had injector problems. But they are now covered for injectors for like 100,000 miles and 6 years (I believe). the lly had over heating problems. the LBZ is the best in my opinion. It came out in 2006. lbz is very dependable. we have owned to lbz duramaxs. no problems at all. The LB7 supossingly has the best fuel milage. But lly offers more power. and lbz offers more and more power. If its in the budget go with lbz. you wont regret it

It seems to me that the majority of guys making big power are LB7s; why that is I dont know. Just seems that way to me; I could be wrong. Dont know if that matters to you or not. Which ones the best? Whichever one you can afford IMO, the Dmax has proven to be a capable engine so I really wouldnt disregard any of them. If you can afford it, Id look at the new LMM, new body style really grew on me, especially lifted, and its the easiest of the new "clean" diesels to mod so far.

But, it still aint a CUMMINS!!

if you are deciding between the LB7 and LLY i would personaly go with the LB7,it's known for better fuel economy other then the injector porblem it has been a almost trouble free engine and don't get me wrong the LLY is a sweet engine as well but they did have some over heating problems so thats the one thing you wanna remeber buying that you may have to do cooling upgrades but not all ofem need this done to it,but like it was mentioned above the best setup is the LBZ/6SP Ally..
the reason you see more LB7 with high hp is # 1,they were the first out but secondly they have the most internal engine upgrades avalible and they seem to like the bigger power better then the LLY,LBZ and LMM.
ps the LB7 has a 7YR/200K mile warranty on the injectors.
