I have a 2007 GMC Sierra LMM CC. All stock, except lift and tires/wheels. (exhaust and programmer waiting to go on till the problem is fixed) So my check engine light is on. I have been into the dealer 5 times. The first four times they say its that the ECM needs replaced. They replace it under warranty, tell me my truck is fixed. I show up to get it and remote start doesnt work, walk over jump in and turn the key and the check engine light is on. I go inside, they act dumb founded and reschedule me for later in the week. So today I go in again, wait around for 2 hours and they say its done. I'm like so what was the problem? Service manager says "theres a new bulletin out and we overlooked it it says when reprogramming a new ECM it must be unplugged for 90 sec prior to programming, then started several times to make sure the codes are erased. We did all that and its fine." So as the service manager is telling me this while walking out to my truck with me I lock the truck with the key fob, hit the remote start, it fires up, he's like see all fixed, about that time the truck shuts off, he's dumbfounded, i open the door climb in and turn the key and the Freakin' check engine light is on again. By this time I'm pissed! I throw him the keys, walk back into the waiting room and sit down. About an hour later he comes back and says "I talked to the techs at GM and they say its a bunch of things I need to try to diagnose the problem and it could be a number of things, loose wire somewhere, bad battery, etc... which are not covered by your warranty due to the miles on the truck, the extensive process of diagnosing could take severalhours which you would be responsible for. I grab the keys, tell him how much bs this is and storm off.
If anyone else has experienced this or can tell me what options I have I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

if your not able to figure anything out with the QSII then id say take it to another dealer and have them run a diagnostics machine on it. You would be surprised at how dumb some of the people are that they hire in their service garages.

It has less than 100,000 miles, but not for long. The dealer has supossedly replaced the ecm and reprogrammed it. I call BS. I turned the code of with the QS2 but as soon as I started the truck it came back on. As this also happens when the dealer says "its fixed". Also dont know if this matters or not but the remote start will not work as long as this code is on. No performance problems just want the freakin light off and the remote start to work.
