| What to Do OK guys, here is one for you to churn thru.
I have a 2008 GMC, D-Max, extended cab, short bed, 4X4, loaded, with 7000 miles.
Sitting in a line of 3 vehicles at a stop light this afternoon. The 4th vehicle approaches at about 40 MPH with a driver not in control – like
passed out. Hits the GMC, pushes it 20+’ into the rear of a VW Pasat,
and then into a mini-van.
Severe damage to rear of GMC, box, bumper, tailgate, Exhaust, shocks, big dent in rear of the cab, front grille, bumper, and trim. Not sure about
the broken driver seat, or air bags, or possible drive train damage.
After the dust went away, the Pontiac Montana was under the GMC, like
it was stuck. I tried to pull truck away and the Montana followed like it
was a trailer. We had to chain it up to a large wrecker and go to 4L to
pull them apart.
I guess my question is new replacement or take a chance of rebuild and the drive train.
Give me your thoughts

| Rebuilt trucks are never the same there is always some over looked part or a body line that doesn't quite line up. Not to mention the insurance company always wants to replace your body parts with some knock off after market junk!! Get a new one if that is a option, I.M.O. Good luck!!!

| I'd take the check and get another truck. It sounds like to many things could be hiding in that mess to find it all.

| Unfortunaly they probably will not total it. A friend of mine had his truck about the same amount of time and miles, was a cc,lb, duramax, had about 18,000 in damage. basicly thay replaced the whole left side and crossmembers underneith, even the rear end. He had state farm.
