Going back to Chevy

First of all my biggest mistake in life was buying a Ford....biggest p.o.c ever!! I've had nothing but trouble with only 30k miles.Dealers suggestion is just be patient we've had some troubles with this year (05)..My suggestion is I'm gettin rid of it!!Second I like the new 07 1/2 - 08 models , but are kinda expensive so I'm looking for something used. I've been shopping for 06-07 (not clear on which ones are LBZ/LLY) & whats the difference in motors??? & If I can find a used 07 1/2 for a fair price does anyone recommend over 06/07? I tow a 26 ft weekend warrior & someday in the near a 39 ft 5th wheel.

Unless you just wanted the NBS i would stick with the 06-07 model with the LBZ. It is basically the same engine just doesn't have all of the Emissions crap on it.

Engine RPO Codes

LLY's are from 2004.5-2005 and LBZ's are from 2006-2007.5... The LBZ has 360 hp, 650 ft lbs of torque, a controller which is programmed different, and a 6 speed tranny...Some of the later LLY's have 6 speed trannies. The LLY has 310 hp and 565 ft lbs of torque.

for Duramax, EFI Live and PPE have been the highly recommended tuners...I run PPE but do not run above level 2 because it can cause tranny issues if you are not careful...Many folks run theirs at higher levels but they are either planning for a future tranny upgrade, are very easy on the pedal, or just don't care...My PPE goes to level 7 but level 2 already adds a very noticeable amount of power...I haven't really driven my truck enough to give much advise.
