Painting Pillar Pod

I just got a 2 gauge pod to install only problem is its black and my interior is dark gray. I found a can of Dupla Color paint at Oriellys. It says its works on trim accessories. Do I need to prep the plastic piece any special way? Any tips for painting this part.

They make special paint for doing interior peaces and id use that.

If they dont have it in your color id scuff it down with a 3M scuff bad, primer it, then paint!

I found the cheapest way was to take it to the body shop and let them paint it. By the time I bought the prep and paint the time to do it all just wasnt worth it. I droped it off and with in 1/2 hour they called to come pick it up. A good shop will have a mixing rack and with the code off the truck can match the paint perfectly.

You might try a auto trim shop, usually the specialize in repairing and painting parts from leather to vinyl to plastic. The shops in St. louis are very good at matching color and the paint last for years. There should be something in your area. Also, Mar-hyde makes a interior semi flat that will work and you can get that at auto paint stores. Some stores can put it in a spray can for you if you are a do-it-yourselfer.

Good luck.

Same here, I just cleaned and used some interior paint in the spray can and went to work, took me about a half an hour to do. I sprayed it with about 3-4 coats.
