it is 4.05 on base here. I haven't looked off base, since I haven't been driving anywhere but to and from work with my truck. I did go snowmobiling last weekend and it was 4.18 where I topped off in delta junction about an hour away from the base.

I put fuel this morning at $3.89 gal. It is costing me about $400 for fuel to go back and forth for work, and the truck stays parked for 14 days a month. I would hate to have to drive five days a week to work.

Cheapest I found was $4.19 around here. We haven't seen it dip below $4.10 for a LONG time now. I would love to be spending less than $4 per gallon.

Maybe Mccain's Fuel tax free for the summer program will pass. This would save around $.50 a gal i think. It is supposed to run from Memorial day to Labor day....

I feel ya on that one. I drive 4 days a week to work and park the truck fri-sat- and sun and it was costing me 550.00 per month...Started riding the bike more often, but to many damn idiots in FL....So tuesday I traded it and the dually in on an 2008 GMC Vmax 6.0....So far I am getting 3 more mile to the gallon than the diesel and I am paying .70 per gallon less in fuel......

Around 4.05 in my neck of the woods,SICKENING..I am having to charge my customers more because I spend about $100-120 a week for fuel,I'm self employed as a contractor,on weeks where I'm running doing dirt work/pad prep for homes I even need to tow around bobcats or skid steer loaders,it may be more. When I come across an inside job, also carpentry, paint etc. I'll use a tad less fuel, but the prices have to be figured in.I REALLY feel bad for having to do it,but a family man w/4 kids and wife/bills needs to bring home a certain amount to be happy and survive, anyway sorry for the long post, but I am really fed up with this.Anyone sincere about something/suggestions we could do to offset this expense that everyone feels would be appreciated,I'm gonna build a processor and post the results, costs, pros and cons, wish me luck guys but we gotta do something,I'm tired of gettin punked by the oil companies/middle east or who the hell ever!!!!GO BIO...

Im in the same boat as you (it feels a lil tipsy ). I own a towing company and increased my prices. Even with the increase I dont make as much of each tow as I use to. I have a kodiak with a CAT and my stomach turns when I turn the key.

My dad owns a garage and a customer whos car I towed about 2.5 miles away earliar in the week called my number by mistake and thank god I didnt hear the phone so she left me a message. " hi this is peg and I just picked up my car. Well it broke down and I think you should tow it for free because Its not my fault it broke down" She was 20 miles away and its a hour drive due to traffic!! If I would of answered Id of flipped! spend $25,000 on equipment and $4.50 a gallon of fuel then its hard to make profit! She called the shop and I ended up towing it. When I towed it the first time the alternator locked. This time it was the fuel pump

Any who the cheapest now is 4.38 and the big station is $4.45. I never would of thought getting fuel for $4.38 was a bargin.
