I see you haven't received any feedback! I too have the 2008 Silverado and it only says B5 in my book. There is some mention of Fleet vehicles approved at B20. I don't understand as it seems we are going backwards. If I wanted to run biodiesel, I should have bought an "older" truck! Our government at work! I would like to run at least a 50% blend in my new truck, but I would like to have someone else with the "arrows in the back".

Mine said B20 is the highest that GM recommends and will support with the warranty.

I have ran B99 in mine for over 4000 miles and had no trouble at all. In fact it runs much cleaner.

I do notice with a B50 I have the best power, throttle response, and fuel economy. When running the B99 my MPG is 20 and with B50 - 22mpg and full diesel - 25mpg.

But the Bio causes no soot build up in the engine in fact it breaks it down and shoots it out the exhaust (just hot air no diesel smell - french fries). Just beware that if you're planning on running any Bio above B20 you need to have a water seperator system with better filters than the stock one.

PinkoDiesel,
A couple of questions. Do you buy your Biodiesel or make it yourself? Where do you get (name) of water seperator? Do you still have the DPF installed? I see you have a Quadzilla installed. In what way have you used this? Forgive my stupid questions but the whole diesel thing is new to me so I am trying to learn. Thanks!

I buy my Bio from two companies SeQuential Bio Fuels (Eugene, OR) and Phoenix Organics (Phoenix, OR). SeQuential buys its Bio from Pacific Biodiesel which Willie Nelson is part owner in along with a coulple from Hawaii, they're based out of Salem, OR.
Biodiesel Fuel Production: Alternative Fuels / Fuel - Pacific Biodiesel
SeQuential - Fuel Local - Fuel Cleaner - Fuel Better

Meyer Performance sells an Air Dog kit that is a fuel filter water seperator. Just send Tyler Meyer on this site a PM and he can get you some pricing and info (PN # FP-100-C).
Meyer Performance & Fabrication, LLC. - Products

I don't have the DPF installed anymore. I removed it this last weekend. I had been running Bio before with the DPF and had no troubles at all, It just runs so clean it would take about two tanks of Bio before the filter was ready to run the regen.

I hope this answers your questions.....
