2001 hd 2500 duramax fuel problems

my truck starts run for a few seconds, then after i hand prime, it starts and runs fine, until it sets for a while, then it is the same thing all over again. i have replaced the filter, then the filter housing package from the dealer with a new filter. that was monet spent for nothing. i can not find the leak that allows the fuel to flow back to the tank. i was hoping that someone out there can help. help help

not quite sure on this but i think bad injectors can cause that also.just a thought but have the dealer check the balance rate on the injectors and if one is bad they will replace all of them if the truck is within the 7YR/200,000 mile warranty with a $100 deductable.

more information on 2001 hd 2500 fuel problem

the injectors were replaced @ 160000, i now have 190000 miles. i replace the rubber hose at the filter housing, comming from the fuel tank, it seems to help during the day, but it still shuts down after a few second after seting all night. it is sucking in air some where.

check the plastic bleeder screw and the WIF sensor for cracks

i put the 2001 hd 2500 duramax in a gm dealers shop this am and after checking several thing they by passed the return line from the engine mto the fuel tank, and said the problem went away. i should get it back tomorrow (wednesday), at that time i will inform you wether it is fixed or not.

well i got my truck back satarday and my problem has been solved. they changed the fuel and return line from the back of the engine to the fuel heater at the tank. this line have five (5) different places with rubBer line that could leaK. IT RUNS FINE NOW. thanks for all the help. even after all the problems i still love my truck.
