EGR block plate

i have a 06'LBZ and really want to get rid of my cat...i was wondering if i put a egr blocker on and dont install the fingerstick, will it hurt nething to leave the SES light on? or is the fingerstick just for getting that little annoying light off?

The finger stick is to trick computer to keep ses light off. You will be fine with egr blocker and and reemoving the cat.

Yes you will be fine, the only draw back is you wont know when the light is on for the egr flow or if you have a real problem.

The egr is a Exhaust Gas Recirculator. It takes your exhaust and recirculates some of it back into the intake to be re-burned.

the egr plate is optional, but always a good idea. Your 07 straight piped will set a SES light for egr flow. Might as well put the plate in and either "finger stick" it or get a programmer that will block the egr codes.

Yeah I agree with BigRedChevy definently do something to turn the light off!!

Worst case scenerio:, your drivin down the highway and something throws the light and you don't know it cuz its already on, and before too long poof goes a VERY expensive engine. that would make the finger stick look pretty darn cheap!!!

I recently put on an EGR Blockoff plate and used the newset PPE tuner which eliminates the 'dumbie' code from setting. I am trying to maximize fuel economy while pulling heavy loads. I'd rather not splice wires and go with something I could easily remove. It has worked flawless without setting a code (30,000+ miles) and gained a slight MPG advantage. I am also adding a 4" single turbo back exhaust i bought for only $219 from http://www.quantum9dist.com/July%20Special%201.pdf. Hope this helps. -Mountain Man Helicopter Hauling
