Willd my warranty if I add a plow

I am in the market for a new 2500 or 3500 ex cab with the duramax. What's that? No SNOWPLOW prep option? I checked the plow manufacturerS websites and no one offers a plow or kit for the DMAX! I asked a salesman (or two)..they said they know poeple who will mount a plw anyway. He also added that the diesel added too much weight to the front end to have a plow added!
Next I called GM directly: "Any modification or add on to the truck MAY void the warranty. Contact the dealer" .

I called a couple of service managers. They couldn't believe the plow prep wasn't an option on a diesel truck, but they had no answer!

I can't get answer anywhere. I currently have a 94 Yukon with the 6.5 diesel and it carries the 7'6" fisher without a whimper (205,000 miles).
Sorry for the long winded explanation: Will the plow void the warranty??? Thanks and regards...joe

OBTW I am being forced to look a the "F" truck now!

I agree, its kind of a iffy on the warranty. They may deny it just for assumptions, I would go the route you are and check with the local dealers. Good Luck

Thumbs up

Found this in my manual,,, RPO option VYU is the snow plow package,it says to pay attention to GVRW,not to exceed it or ya can have braking probs,I hope that this starts you on the right foot.It also says in the book not to mount a plow without the production package, but I'd imagine if you do your math and ask if not havin the option and mounting plow anyway would hurt,I say GO FOR IT!!!

Ya I honestly cant see why they would hurt your warranty if you added a plow. The duramax is built to be a work truck. What better truck to put it on?!
