Hey ya'll, what would be the best way to hook up a tank that is in the bed of my truck? I want to make it where I can fill it up without stopping. Just flip a switch in the cab and watch the guage. Is this possible? Anyone have a idea on a kit that I can buy and install myself? Any one have a pic of your setup to give me a idea.
Thanks

are you sure it would fill isn't the existing fuel tank under press. or at leased enough that it would not drain in by itself. i think you would need to let the pressure off of the tank. i was thinking about doing that and just stoping and filling the tank with a siphon hose.

NorthernTool.com has a kit that lets the aux tank automatically fill the main tank without any interaction on your part, just fill the tank and go. This will probably work on my LB7, but I have read on of these threads that the new trucks might throw a code seeing fuel flow without a loss of level indication on the gauge. Not sure if yours falls into this catagory.
I checked that one out at Northerntool. It would be great if I could control it from inside the cab with a switch. I read some of the feedback and people are overfilling there trucks...

stock tank is not under pressure. on my race truck i run a Fass lift pump that returns into the filler neck. on my dually I run a .5 inch line from my aux. tank into the filler neck with a normally closed solenoid. yes it will overflow if you are not paying attention, but in 5 years it has never happened.
I installed an Aux tank setup from Transfer Flow. A bit pricey, but it works great. The fuel stock gauge shows the level of both tanks automatically, the aux system keeps the OEM tank matching the aux. Full automatic transfer of the fuel.
No switch to throw, no need to remember to watch the fuel gauge during the transfer process. The whole process happens under a positive control, with no worrys about leaks, etc.
I can carry 76 Gal. At 19 MPG I think I can make Denver from Chicago on 1 fill. I will find out in 2 weeks.
Cons:
Just need to figure a way to keep paying for fuel at 4.89/gal.
Now I need to figure out the way to eliminate potty stops.
Also, with a soft bed cover it is cumbersome to refuel.
