well if you have the edge and straight pipe exhaust you should be set just turn the edge up to 5 and push that throttle down hard

You could buy EFI live and make a smoke tune that is safe for a stock trans. Or just build your trans and turn the Edge up.

all the black smoke is wasted fuel!! thats like taking money and burning it! i agree i would love to smoke people out. but i would also like to be more efficient with diesel as expensive as it is!

Duramax's really don't smoke that well without a big tune with lots of fuel. That takes a tranny build if you don't want to hurt it. You can get away with a stock tranny for a while if you don't hammer it with boosted launches and WOT into 5th gear. You really want to lay some smoke buy an old 12 valve Dodge and have the P-pump jacked up. A big set of injectors and you will lay some serious smoke. Like every one says, it's a waste of fuel.

You guys are write and wrong. Just get EFI live and take all the boosts out of the tune. It will smoke like crazy and be stock tranny safe. Depending on your year truck just put a DSP switch in the truck when you want to smoke turn the switch when you want to get MPG just turn the switch again.

Thanks for tips. It's not like i want to smoke all the time, just when i get really pissed about something. The whole reason i went diesel with the after market mods was to get better fuel economy. Thanks again.
