This is just a hypothetical question but as I read speedpro's saga about his warranty being denied because he had gauges in his truck it got me thinking about something else.
what if you towed for a living and traded in your 2005 or any other year Dmax or any other kind of truck for that matter for brand a new 08, and when you got that 08 set up to haul realized it was getting 2-3mpg less then your old truck with 300,000mi on it. What would you do?
I was thinking what if you cut the DPF off the truck and ran a PPE at the stock setting but with the regen turned off and codes reset? im not even sure if you can do this? What im thinking is that sure your exhaust and DPF would be voided from warranty work but what about the rest of the truck? You would not be adding power so the tranny should still be ok? You would not be adding fuel so the injector pump and everything else should be ok? You would not be added power so the rear end and everything in between should be ok right?
What im saying is do you think you could get away with something like this if you had to take it to court?

I'd have to think probably not. If you have a tuner that is capable of making more power than stock, then the courts will argue that who's to say you didn't turn it up, and just change it back to stock before takin it in? It'd be your word against theirs. And we'll have to see how speedpro1 comes out to find out who's word they're going to take. I'd have to say that if you have it, they're going to assume that you'd use it for more than just dpf delete.
On the other hand, if there's a tuner out there that only has a stock tune, and can delete the dpf, then maybe you'd have a chance.
well on the new truck they can see how many times the ecm has been flashed you could have a dealer install the tunes, and they can check reflashes to see if matches

If you had the extra cash to spend you could get another ECM for the truck and keep one stock and use the other to do your changes two. Then if you ever need to have work done on it you would just have to put the stock ECM back in and they would never know.

Special Thanks goes to the person in the WAL-MART parking lot for installing it for me,
the ecm wouldn't match up with the data the truck logs they would see that it hasnt regened and other things many have tried that, with no luck.

I was told by my local 3 dealerships, that anything like a programmer, CAT removal, etc.....will put you on the Blacklist. And once you are blacklisted...good luck. I had a Chevy Avalanche, and there was a mistake when someone typed in my mileage at another dealership.....they said I reset my mileage, blacklisted me, and made me pay for that day at the dealership. I tried everything in my power to get off the list with no avail.
