Fuel leak

I was driving into town and i was low on fuel heading to the station to get some when all of a sudden i ran out of deisel a couple of blocks aways so started walking a got a gas can and a galllon of diesel and went and put it it. primed it an started and i ran out agian and coasted to the pump. Then i got a little diesel and went down the road. Got to my next place and shut the truck off only to find out i had fuel pouring out and running off the bell housing down the tranny pan. so i went to get it to the gas station again. i put more diesel in it to get it home. luckly i got it home and parked it. My engine light came on and it read the fuel rail pressure. Does anybody have any idea on where the diesel is coming from. Sorry for the long post. Any info would be appreciated. THANKS

yes it is thats the first thing i check for but as it was leaking it felt dry to me. It seems more like right about the starter you can see splashes of fuel like its hitting there

i would start by taking the fuel filter out and making sure the water sensor is in right and reinstalling the fuel filter just to be sure...other then that you'll either the fuel filter housing is leaking or a fuel line has a crack in it..can you pin point were the leak is?

i have pulled the wheel well thing off so i could get a better look at the leak and see the fuel filter. Is is pouring out above ther started somewhere. I guess what i am asking is there any fuel lines that run in that area. Or could i have done something worse like blown the manifold gasket or something.

You need to get a flashlight and have someone pump on the primer while you are under the truck looking for the leak.open the bleeder a lil bit, then pump and check,I would be REALLY careful if ya get it started and get to looking too.Prob not that big a deal.Maybe FFH or a line that got snagged..It does happen.. Hope ya pinpoint it,let us know!!

I had a guy come over and look at it and he told me there was and injector pump back there and that i would have to take the whole top half of the engine off to get to it. If that is the case and there is a injector pump back there is that covered under the 200,000 mile warrenty on injetors. Or is that seperate.

Back where, the only pump is the IP.It is under the hood part, and pulls a lot of duty as the fuel pump and IP pump.No LBZ engines have the extended warr on injectors, only the LB7's have the ex warr on them.Prob double check 4 leaks, even the smallest one in a fuel line will cause undesirable operation...

He said there is an IP behind the engine right over the bellhousing. And thats where my leak is coming from. It runs fine it just really pours out diesel and i am not talking overnight i am talking i could go through half a tank in about 10 mins if i let it run.
