Dirtymax question

Hey guys, a buddy of mine just bought an 04 D-max... He's looking to make some decent power but more than anything fuel economy is important. I don't know what way to steer him with programmers for it being a Cummins guy, I told him if I were him I would just spend the money on EFI Live, cause thats what all us Cummins guys wish we had for our trucks , but not being very experienced with the DMax's figured I'd ask you guys. Thanks for the help!

PPE or EFI. It depends on what kind of programmer he wants. PPE plug and play out of the box. EFI has never ending options but you have to take the time to learn it. They are both worth the Money.

EFILive is the ultimate but a PPE or ATS tuned Duramax is a force to reckon with but not sure if that well be quite enough to beat a 700+RWHP Cummins(nice setup)i take it by the tuning you have it's a CR Cummins..pixs would be nice.

Yeah my vote goes for the PPE if he doesn't want to mess around with it too much. BTW let us see that truck of yours.

hey guys sorry about the lack of pic haven't gotten a pic of it clean after i added a couple things... and yeah its a CR '03. Thanks for the input guys, i'll definitely get some pics up
And oh yeah i let him borrow my Bully Dog tonight, it moves pretty good w/the Crazy Larry, the Duramaxes have always impressed me, i remember getting beaten by a bone stock LBZ when i had just the Bully on mine, made me feel like a loser
Anyways look forward to talking to you all in the future, glad there isn't any band bashing around here, never like that blind bashing of "other" diesels on some of the Cummins forums i'm on...

oh ya Meyer i remember seeing that thread... what a joke...people can't seem to understand that competition among brands benefits us all, if one brand never outdid another, we'd all be driving 6.5 chevys and 12-valve cummins still... I just bought an 08 Tundra longbed with the 5.7 for work and LOVE it, and the guys at work rag on me for not driving a domestic, but it far outperforms the other gassers i looked at from all the other manufacturers... plus i can smoke any one of their trucks in it
I just don't get the ignorance from some guys...
