vibration

Anyone had any probs with ats torque convertors vibrating at idle. I have had several diesel mechanics look at my duramax but everyone says the motor is jam up. The flexplate is in perfect condition, not sure exactly what to do at this point it almost has to be the convertor i think. can anybody help?

I read where, a famous and well respected tranny man, sugested to remove every other bolt on the flex plate....Perhaps he can jump in and provide some real advice.

you need to check really good. I've replaced three flexplates. Theres either a crack that you cant see or the bolts are coming loose and soon start rubbing on the block. Does the truck shift any different?
Does it sound like you have an exhaust leak? I finally got a flex plate that was 90% hand made. What a difference. Shifting, towing, HP transfer, etc....

You would have to go to a good machine shop and see if they will work with you. It takes lots of hours. Check your driveshaft it may be bolted on unbalanced.

the driveshaft shouldn't be moving when he's idling. unless its in gear, but even then it shouldn't be spinning fast enough to vibrate.
