Need advice on installing EGT

Trying the install myself, here are my questions:

1. Connected the 12v power and ground but do not get gauge (Autometer COMP II) to light up, I know there is a thrid wire for the dimmer, but does this thrid electrical connection also provide power for the gauge light?

2. Where in the fire wall are you routing the wire for the EGT? Please be specific, pictures would help.

3. When tapping the exhaust manifold I understadn it is on the passenger side, correct? Where do you route the wire from the firewall to the manifold?

4. When tapping manifold what is the typical hole size? DO I need to tap the hole out or will the connector provided thread in ok once the hole is the right size?

question 1
i never used the dimming wire i always hook the power wire to the ignition fuse under the hood.
question 2
if you look under the hood you'll see where the steering shaft comes thru the firewall just above that and to the right there is a big rubber gromet with wires going thru it take a knife and slice a slit into the outer part of it and then shove the wire thru it,it can be a pain in the ?? the first time you do it.
question 3
to be honest the driverside manifold has more accurate numbers then the passengerside manifold but when routing the wires across the engine bay you will notice there are gromets holding the rubber seal on where the back of the hood meets the bottom of the windshield take a zip tie the wires to those gromets.
question 4
i forget all the NPT size or the pilot hole size but in your instructions it should have all that, all the AutoMeter that i have done always had the instructions on what size drill bits and NPT threader.
hope this helps
