After doing a search on the internet, the only difference that there may be is the off-road stuff has a higher sulfer content than the on road stuff. High sulfer is not the best for our engines. There may be a different cetane rating too on it because it may be refined a little different. I have been unable to get a difiniative answer from a website that explains the difference. On another forum someone posted this:
"I have been using off road/ dyed fuel for years in my truck. I have been getting my fuel delivered and have talked many times to the driver while he fills my tanks. He fills up my off road diesel tank, on road diesel tank and my furnace fuel tank with the same hose. Then he puts some dye into the off road diesel tank and hands me the bill. He says the stuff is all the same."
