See, to me a normal BOV is kinda importish and a little more generic, but I really do want a sequential BOV because it sounds a lot more like turbo bark than anything else. Thanks for giving me the heads up on the turbo type guys

A sequential BOV is a very popular BOV in the awd scene(mitsu evo and suby STI)... I know a lot of ppl running them and they are a lot higher pitch noice than turbo bark from a diesel, if you like turbo bark leave it as is, thats just my 2 cents because Diesel BOV's are expencive and you will receive no gain from it...

I liked the turbo bark until I found out how bad it is, but if I were a rich man I'd say let it bark and throw another bigger one in there when it shi*s the bed. For now, 200 or 300$ is a relatively cheap investment for a mod for the truck to insure it doesn't self destruct. I plan on draggin it one day and know I will receive gain from it when that time comes I'm sure comin out of the water box and going from WOT 3K+ RPM's to idle as fast as the truck will go would cause it to bark every time. So for most- yeah, probably a complete waste of time and money- for anyone doing sled pulls or drag racing= cheap insurance. Just my .02 unsolicited.......

I have an 01 2500 HD Alli and mine barks all the time, I used to like it till I found out that it will destroy a turbo after a while, I love drag racing my truck and pulling thing Ie, sleds, other trucks, stuck cop cars and tahoes and I've been researching the BOV's BD has one but it's super $$ and HKS has a SSQV for diesels thats about $270 but I'm not sure if it's still available I am planning to call them Monday and find out

Cool, let me know what you find out. I'm only interested in the SSQV. I'm new to diesels and turbos so I don't know if one would even want to put a BOV on a duramax? I hope its just a more or less drop in replacement for the wastegate. If so, I've found one that might work for our trucks for way less than 640$ BD kit.

I haven't ever seen my boost drop off during shifts...I have the allison....now, if you are making big power with a different turbo and you have the manual, then you might actually need a BOV. Most people just have them to sound "cool" like a ricer. I haven't read of many people adding a BOV though.
never got the turbo to bark i got mine 01 lb7 to bark the other day with only a intake and exhuast and some wet pavement
