Well EFI Live is sweet if you know what your doing. PPE Hot+2 will give you up to 425HP with just that tuner. Will all that power you will have to do alot of mods to handle all that. I run it and its great. I also had Triple dog and Edge. They were just ok. Not really what I wanted from a tuner.

oh ok, i also was wonding because i was thinking about adding a fleece performance cheetah turbo next summer and i heared that you pretty much have to have efi live tuning to run with that turbo.

My friend has as bigger turbo on his duramax. Its the Gt40 turbo from PPE. He runs his truck on level 10 or 425hp on his PPE. I don't think you have to run EFI Live for there turbo. I was looking into them also. I haven't asked them that.

The PPE will add 425 to the crank with supporting mods, like dual fuelers, built motor, upgraded turbo, lift pump etc, etc.

PPE smokes good. Level 4 and up dont defuel and they smoke alot. Turn it up.

You don't have to have it to run their turbo, but if you want to run the extra boost that it is able to run then you will have to have EFI. The chettah is a VVT just like the stock one, so the programming depends on how much boost you run.
EFI is easy to learn the software, writing a tune is a different story. I still haven't got to were i can write a tune on my own, but Rob has fixed me a couple great tunes and i really haven't seen the need to change them yet.
I think if i were you i would worry about a tranny upgrade before a turbo anyway. And if you are going for more black smoke the turbo will actually make you have less smoke.
