plan B for deleting air resinator

i went to home depot today to buy the plug for my air intake resinator to delete the box. and neither them or lowes carried such a thing they told me i would have to go to a plumbing specialty store and being saturday they wouldn't likely be open until monday. but i did find a rubber 2" cap with a hose clamp that has managed to do the job just fine. it appears to be sealing off 100% but i do believe the plug is the safest way to go. which i will most likely do at the first opportunity i get to make it to the plumbing store. i'm going to try and load a photo to this post but i'm new and i'm not sure if my membership i have will permit me to do it.

I might have been able to rig it to where i could leave it. but it would require some doing. the hose that goes to the air box won't fit over the cap i installed.

The cap you got is actually the safest.

The plug will allow you to put your 6.6 cover back on is all. It could come apart and make its way into turbo, but I never heard of it happening.

Also the people at home depot dont know shit. The 2" test plug is avail at home depot and lowes. you wont find 1 employee that knows where it is.....

there is a thread over on the DP about a member who used a test plug and it failed and went into his intake, I dont remember if it went into his turbo but the bolt looked burgered up and some parts he still could not find.

put some red locktite on the wing nut then run a nylock down on top of it with some more red locktite. Problem solved as far as it coming apart or ever getting it out for that matter!!!

that is exactly what i used on mine. I did try to find a plug, but lowes didnt have the right size. I havent had any problems out of mine and i feel better about not having anything that "could" loosen up. Either way you cant go wrong with this mod.
