LB7 Fuel filter base replacement

I need to replace the filter base on my LB7 engine. Two questions: Ideas on where I find a replacement as all dealers in Northern California as of today are back ordered and How difficult to do? I do all maintenance and have better than average mechanical skills.

Thanks

I would say better than average skill is all you need. Do a search, many write-ups on here how to do a filter change. As for where to get it, I'm sure one of the vendors would be more than happy to send you a couple or 10!

I ordered a balwin filter from internet, under $25.00. It was the 2 micron filter too. Would never put the old 7 micron back on

Thanks guys. I change fuel filters readily but what I was looking for was information on replacing the housing /base that the filter threads onto. I did and it was not difficult, the difficult part was locating one as all of the northern California dealers were back ordered for the part. I found it on dmaxwrenchkit.com for $319 and installed it and it solved my problem.

My problem was fuel leaking through the connection to the heater to the left of the primer pump.

What problems, other than a leak, were you having? Mine is leaking when I pump the primer (it actually sprays out!) and the truck won't start now. I am going to try a quick fix (JB Weld) to try to get the truck running.

Sprays out where? Around the primer base? Can you take a picture of it?

It sprays out at the bottom of the plastic pipe that covers the electrical connection for the heater. That's just to the left of the primer.
