| EGT probe install! Start the truck and let it idle when you drill the hole. it will keep the shavings out of the manifold. Make sure you are useing the correct size bit.. or you could damage the manifold win you go to tap it for the probe.

| First pull the Pass. side tire and inner fender.
Drill on the little flat spot buy the top/rear most bolt on the manifold.
Use about three or four different size drill bits starting small and working up to the size u need (this keeps the shaving small). Dip the drill bit in some grease each time u drill, this will hold most of the shavings.
Once you get the hole drilled to size, do the same thing with the tap, dip it in some grease and tap away.
Install the pyro and away u go!
I have never installed a banls prob but they are all pretty much the same!

| There's a few things that you can do to optimize the chance that no metal shavings are circulated back into your intake system:
1. Have your truck running / idling to create positive air pressure (blowing the drill bits outward)
2. Cover the drill bits in a quality grease before drilling. Make sure to start with a small bit and step it upward 3-4 times before achieving the desired hole.
3. Drill slow.
4. Have another person hold a vacuum right next to where you are drilling, to create additional air vacuum (negative pressure) outward for the metal shavings.
5. Make sure to tap the hole also with the truck idling and vacuum turned on.
Wear eye protection to avoid having the metal shavings fly into your eyes. |

| ive heard its not a good idea to put grease on the drill bit because the metal fragments will stick to the excess grease from the drill bit on the inner side of the manifold...making nearly impossible to vaccum out....the grease doesnt make drilling much easier

| When I drilled and taped my manfold I did not use grease. I just started the truck and let it idle. Then I drilled and taped it.

| I own a shop and a buddy of mine is a GM tech and were going to pull the manifold off and not take any chances when we install the pyro/boost gauges in my truck.

| I used the "truck Idle" and grease...Did whole install in 10 mins...as opposed to hour and removing manifold. Side note...With the Engine Idle On, pressure is VERY strong so unless you manhandle drill in there won't be any shavings...Thanks guys...great install tip

| Everyone has their own way of doing it but, as long as you get a good end result with no shavings in the turbo, it was a GOOD install!! |
