Duramax, allison transfer case pump rub fix

Just wanted to post this, apparently if you have a new venture 263xhd transfer case on your 4x4 allison dmax package, it will eventually rub through the magnesium housing, I see online you can get a aftermarket pump plate for 175 bucks, or riverside gear sells a plate for less, My local gear shop, (border parts, spring valley ca.) sold me a 8 dollar steel clip, a little different than stock, supposedly holds up better, but I didn't like the grove the old clip left, so I put the old clip in the grove it made before, and tacked it to the new clip, double thick to last longer, I'm going to weld the mag housing tomorrow, I had to order the rod, az92e is the stuff to use, TGAW AC short wave length, high freq. preheat to 300, weld, let cool slowly. anyways, this fix is costing me under 50 bucks including the welding rod and should be good to go, just wanted to pass this on, if I wasn't a welder, I would get the two part epoxy stuff CAT sells for case repairs, I think it would work fine, good luck!

Won't swear to it, but I believe the LMM's don't have this issue, updated TCase. Chris

mine was on it way out... luckily they found the issue and did the pump upgrade when the trans was built.

do you have to drop the t-case to do this or just take off back housing?
