Headliner Noise-Drivers Side

hi all, i have an 03 GMC HD DMax, just recently my truck has started to develope a "vibrating noise" coming from the area in the headliner where it appears to be a speaker! it only makes the irritating noise when you come to a stop put in any gear or park.If i push hard enough against the headliner in that area it seems to deaden the vibe! Has anyone out there come across this situation before??? thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Hmm I want to say the speaker is a microphone for Onstar with trucks that have it (I have the speaker but no onstar). Im not sure about the vibrating noise. Id take the plastic trim molding down make sure the clips are all on and ok then push it back in place.

Ok it is not a speaker or a microphone. It is the cabin temp sensor. There is a little fan in there that pulls air across a set of wires just like a mass air sensor. Get your self some air in a can. the stuff that is used to clean computers. Spray that up there to clean it off then take some electric safe spray lube and give it a little hit. That should cure your problem.

thanks guys, i took it to the dealer this morning and it was exactly that little sensor fan, it was right full of dirt causing the little fan to buzz! They cleaned it up and the vibration stopped. they do want to put in a new sensor for $100.00 but i think its good to go. Funny how something so small can be so annoying. thanks again.

haha no problem.....Hard to diagnose a sound issue without actually sitting in a unit..could be a number of things!
like i said earlier its CRAZY how something so simple can make such an annoying sound!! It vibrated the headliner so loudly that it seemed as though i had engine troubles, turned out to be a 10 min cleaning!! Thank God!
