in mine i unplugged a wire under the driver seat, the truck cant tell you are sitting there so it doesnt yell at you.

I wear my seatbelt all the time for the reasons you said i just dont like when the key is in the ignition and the door is open it dings so loud when trying to play the radio

As Cloud said, it's easier to wear your belt, and generally safer for your well being inside the vehicle.
But if your like Zeus and your bouncing around on the farm, you could always just plug the belt in behind you and sit on it. Or if you don't want to sit on the belt you could (easier with front bench vs buckets) plug the belt from the seat next to you into the driver buckle.

Anyone ever figure this out? I run a mowing business and get in and out of my 08 3500 about 50 times a day. Putting on my seatbelt is just not there for me in town. I wear it on the highway, just not in town. So it would be awesome if we could figure out how to turn off that dam dinger.

I have an '06 ext cab 1500 and faced these two issues in the past.
As I remember, the annoying seat belt ding is broadcast thru the radio
and out Bose speaker. It cannot be disabled w/o disabling radio.
Key in igniton is another story. There is a small (I believe) green wire just under
steering column identified by it's PIN location. Clip it and no more alerting every
thief in a 2 block radius yer key is in ignition. You can also now lock up truck
with key in ignition.
Info is a little vague, I know. Point is, there is sum relief !
Any GM techs here ?
