Dirt smell when I turn on AC

I have an 03 so I guess no cabin air filter. Every time I use the AC I get the smell of dust (son races dirt bikes so travel on dusty roads). How can I get rid of the dust smell? It has been months since dusty road travel and still have the smell.

I can't remember the name but Autozone or the like has a can of stuff you can spray into the ac intake. I had to do the same to mine when I bought it used a couple months ago to get rid of the smoke smell from the previous owner. Worked quite well.

I have heard of this same type of cleaner, one of my vendors, Mighty Auto Parts sells an AC refresher kit.

try spraying frigy fresh. or ozium into the intake. possibly your in cabin airfilter needs to be replaced. should be done every 15-20k depending on how dirty it is, and how dusty the environment is where you live/work.

You can mask the odor, but to get rid of the odor, get rid of the dirt. Clean and rinse the Evaporator coil.

Cleaning is easy with a spray cleaner, getting to it isn't as easy. Thanks GM, for deleting our cabin filters.:cool
