I say go with two tens. If you can fit 12's in your probably arent gonna have enough air to make them sound good. whatever you do make sure you get a good box though. Makes a huge difference in sound.

im a 12's guy in my last truck I had 4 12" soundstreams but in my current truck thats not an option it looks like the way to get the most out of every nook and cranny I may try to get 4 or maybe even 6 jl 8" subs in my 1rst car I had 3 jl 8w6s and people could not beleive they were 8's until I pulled down the back seat and they could see for themself but never buy a bargain basement brand unless you can hear them first always check rms watts never peak some brands claim 1000 watts peak but that means absolutely nothing it should be illegal to make such pointless claims. buy nice or buy twice.

I definitely agree with you. RMS means Roots Mean Square as in the sub runs in that power range at all times. Max is only during spikes that happens on a deep bass or tone. It does not last very long, maybe a millisecond.
As for the JL 8W7, you should look at some on youtube, they bump pretty good for a little sub that could. On the other hand, if you want a deeper tone, JL makes a sub that is only 2.5" thick. You can mount that sub behind the seat or under the seat. It's called the TW5. The disadvantage is that either subs are quite pricey but they will outlast any subs lifespan. Just like the saying goes "you get what you pay for".
If you are planning to put it under the seat, get a down firing box setup, this will achieve the best sound quality and the best bass.
Have fun.

I have a kicker solo baric L7 from last year, its 12" and let me tell you with my pheonix gold 1400 watt amp this thing would flex the glass in my old truck! I had kicker build a spec box for it so it's pushin like optimal air but the problem is with my lmm i have 4 door so I don't want to put it on the back seat, so I need to sell it for some shallow mounts and put it under, so someone should buy it off me!!! hahaha
10's will be tighter
12's will be louder, way louder
I have 2 Orion DVC 12's on a Directed 1500d. It doesnt fit too well in the truck, but holy shit are they loud. I may have to look into those JL 8's. I miss bass so much. I think I could build a nice box for 3 or 4 8's. Do they come in different Ohms? My 1500d is 1/2 Ohm stable.

The First Law of Thermodynamics states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed... unless it meets Chuck Norris.
They have like 3 different models of the 8". Go on the website and see what you want, the 8W3 is much easier to fit because it has a much smaller enclosure requirement and you can put about 4 of them in it. The 8W7 , you will be only able to put 2 of em in due to the sub size. I think if you have the center console, you probably could modify to make it fit underneath by ditching the bose subwoofer. I would like to try that route if it works.
When I had my Hummer I left the BOSE system because of the navigation and onstar and all that crap but I have four 10" MA Audio and 4000 watts of power and it broke my back window... so I turned it down a little...
I have run MTX, Rockford Fosgate, KICKER, and JL audio and these are all great brands... for price and quality though I still recommend getting soundstream...
