The driver's side only blows cold air, the passenger side blows hot or cold depending on how it feels that day. I searched the forum but couldn't find a thread that talked about the problems i am having. This wasn't a big deal during the summer since the driver side only blows cold, but now with winter coming on, this Texas boy is gonna need some heat! What do you guys think? Where is a good place to start? I'm thinking either the relays or the control unit. I heard the passenger side is a !@#$% to replace.

Cognito Upper A-arms
Clutch Upgrades And the list goes on and on
IIR this is caused by a actuater which is located deep in the dash on the A/C box. You have to remove the upper part of the dash to even see it. Parts are about $200. Maybe someone else will respond.

tried the fix as described in the attached thread. Results - passenger side works like new, driver side still only blows cold; doesn't matter where the controls are set. thoughts??? is it time to start replacing parts ie actuator, relay, control unit.

It sounds like you have a bad A/C Vacuum Actuator.
I am parting out my truck because I wrecked it and have a good one I would sell you for $150 shipped OBO. They run about $250 new from GM.
It installs up under the drivers side of the dash.
Let me know what you think. Thanks!

yeah id say actuator is your problem. I was having a problem where my passenger side would work fine, but he drivers side blowed out Hot air and it wouldnt switch to cold. Or if i sarted the truck with the a/c set cool on the driverside and wanted to switch it to heat, it would change. Problem was the actuator. cost me about $270.00 but the part and labor at the dealership
