Heavy duty version of the rockauto shaft.. for only $125 more... Serious off-road enthusiests use the borgeson... otherwise... I think the rock auto would suffice.
So I ordered the shaft from RockAuto and it was here in 2 days
It literally took between 30-45 minutes to replace
Immediately pulling out of my driveway I didn't hear the noise!
Cost from dealer on my last truck = $204
Cost by doing it myself = $48
Joining a helpful forum = Priceless
You can see the different in the two. The new one has a slot cut in the shaft with a pin in place to minimize the twist motion that my old shaft was doing.

how much was the shipping from rockauto? my buddy locally has it for $53. gonna get it today.
Total shipped was probably about that.. $53-54 ( I don't remember)
But I also saved on sales tax so take that into consideration.
The part is cheap enough though, so I personally wouldn't worry about paying $4 more for tax to have it today rather than in 3 days.

Well they both eliminate the noise and one is $50 the other is over double.
The rockauto part I got was very sturdy and is doing the trick
