steering wheel lights

the lights went out on the top set of control buttons on my steering wheel in my slt 05 sierra does anyone know how or why hey may have gone out and how do you fix it

just like any other bulb they burn out. you can get a whole new switch from a dealer for around $20. it is a whole lot easier that trying to put a new bulb it it

They more or less can be popped out, and the new one pops back in. So it should be pretty simple.

the top 2 are not that hard. just take your airbag off and push them out from behind. the bottom 2 on my truck the wires were to short to pull them out so i had to take off my steering wheel. either way it is not that hard at all you could have them all done inan hour

you don't have to pull the airbag or the steering wheel to change the switches

he is right you don't have to pull airbag out but if you want to be safe i think its a good idea to pop it out for the extra time it takes , all you have to do is pull on one of them plugs to hard & you will end up replacing the entire wiring harness , then u would have to remove the steering wheel

yeah , but all you got to do is be gentle, i have done three trucks and had no issues . I am real careful though
